Promoting
North of Boston at Logan Airport International Terminal
This April, we
revamped our display at Logan Airport’s newly renovated
International Terminal E. The six foot high and five foot wide
display stands next to the information booth & currency exchange at
the international arrivals. One side displays a sandcastle by Fitzy
Snowman Sculpting, and the other features photos and information of
the 13 participating members.
This year, Fitzy
made the sandcastle even bigger & better, the background was changed
to include two calls to action to the northofboston.org website, and
all 13 participating members have a sign on custom made wooden
posts. The opposite side features photos, websites, and the names
of the participating members in a colorful, eye-catching display.
The side of the case holds North of Boston and Escapes North
brochures. This is a high traffic location, and the brochures fly
off the shelves!
Last year, terminal
E saw about 12,745 inbound flights. We are very happy to
again have this opportunity to promote North of Boston to a large,
international audience and are thrilled to continue our working
relationship with Massport.

Dear Colleagues, We are writing to invite you to
participate for free in Massachusetts WorldFest,
a joint project of the Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism
(MOTT) and the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC). With support
from Governor Deval Patrick and the Legislature, WorldFest
seeks to showcase the rich array of cultural and ethnic
festivals that enliven communities across Massachusetts each summer.
The core of WorldFest is a new,
user-friendly website –
www.massvacation.com/worldfest — that presents a wide array of
cultural and ethnic festivals large and small, in cities and towns
from Boston to the Berkshires, from Cape Ann to Cape Cod. Along
with this site, we have planned an aggressive marketing and
advertising campaign through the summer to drive visitors from
across New England to your events!
The web site, which is live, includes a search engine
that allows visitors to search by region, name of event and/or date.
If you would like your festival to be included, please complete the
attached form; qualified listings are provided at no cost. We
intend the site to be inclusive and as comprehensive as possible.
Our only criteria are that participating festivals
represent communities or groups of communities within Massachusetts
that share a common ethnic or artistic heritage, or way of life.
Massachusetts is home to a host of such groups, ranging from
longstanding communities from Native America and Europe to newcomers
from Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Each of these, and many
others, showcase vital cultural traditions through their public
fairs and festivals, which deserve recognition and support.
Attached please find the Massachusetts
WorldFest logo; we invite you to post this logo on your
festival’s own website and link back to
www.massvacation.com/worldfest
so visitors to your site can find complete information about
this exciting summer program.
